Hosted by Indians Against CAA NRC in Schenley Plaza in Oakland on January 26, 2020. The CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) was enacted into law on December 12, 2019 and proposes to enact a nationwide National Register of Citizens (NRC). Its believed that this registery makes it possible for Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains and Parsees who came to India from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh before Dec. 31, 2014, to obtain Indian citizenship. However, it potencially excludes Muslims from having the same option.
