The 21st annual potluck dinner focuses on the relations between the United States and Cuba. This year, it will be bringing attention to the immoral blockade of Cuba for all US travelers.
Also at the potluck, we will have Father Luis Barrios, who was jailed last year for trespassing on the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation, a government property during a protest against the SOA (School of Americas). This area is used to train torture tactics to advance the US in Latin American conquests. He was held in a 10-by-6 cell for 23 hours a day for over a week, where he was released to go to the hospital due to severe illness. He was then sentenced to two months in a federal prison. He is now a board member of P4P, as well as a professor at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
